Dairy brings a unique value proposition to the economic table.

Dairy also brings great value to the food table.

During a short two-minute window at the CIGAL Dairy Trade Show in Jalisco, Mexico, on June 16, Ben Brancel, secretary of Wisconsin's Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection shared how dairy benefits many people. To move dairy forward, however, those benefits must be shared equally by dairy farmers, dairy processors, and dairy consumers not only in the United States, but also around the world.

To learn more about Brancel's thoughts on the $43.5 billion dollar dairy industry in Wisconsin and how that sector extends far beyond the Badger State's borders, watch this short two-minute video above.

This Hoard's Dairyman Intel article is part of an ongoing series that will highlight a Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer (DATCP) trade mission to Jalisco, Mexico. That trade mission coincided with the CIGAL Dairy Trade Show held June 13 to 17, 2016. In all, 11 companies, two educational institutions, two Wisconsin state agencies, and one publication attended the event, along with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and DATCP Secretary of Agriculture Ben Brancel.
