Cedarcut Burdette Clove Colata won it all!

Mary Creek, Hagerstown, Md., had her work cut out for her as she placed North America's elite Ayrshires on World Dairy Expo's colored shavings Tuesday. One 3-year-old cow from New York clearly caught her eye.

Cedarcut Burdette Clove Colata, owned by Erin Curtiz-Szalach of Cazenovia, N.Y., sorted her way to the top of the Senior 3-Year-Old Cow class and was awarded bred and owned, best udder, and production at the show. Colata also took home Intermediate Champion Female and Grand Champion Female honors. Much like the Guernsey, Pistachio Pie a few years before, the cow was also named Grand Champion of the Junior Show.

The second-place Senior 3-Year-Old Cow and Reserve Intermediate Champion Female, Ski-Pal L G Kalina, owned by Galmourview of Wakerville, Md., was named the Reserve Grand Champion of the show.

Last year's Grand Champion, Vieux Village C Diamond, owned and breed by Florent, Vicky and Bianca Foley of Piopolis, Quebec, topped the Six-Year-Old and Over Cow class and was named Reserve Senior Champion Female.

Premier Breeder and Exhibitor nods went to Family Af-Ayr Farm, Caledonia, Ill.

While Colata reigned in the cow shows, Bar-Vue BBK Goldy, owned by the Kruses of Dyersville, Iowa, took Reserve Grand Champion honors of the Junior Show. The Junior Show's junior champion was Sco-Lo Dream Mistress-ET, owned by Tyler Bruchey of Westminster, Md. Family Ay-Ayr Burdette Destiny-ET, owned by Kristin Allen, Cecil, Wis., was named the Reserve Champion Heifer. The same two animals also claimed top honors in the Open Heifer Show.

Judge Creek placed 265 animals with assistance from Associate Judge Selwyn Donald of New Zealand.
